What is the emergency solution for children with pulpitis?

With pulpitis, the main symptom is pain.

The baby will cry with toothache, and parents will feel particularly uncomfortable. The nature of the pain is spontaneous labor pain, which will be more violent at night, and hot and cold stimuli will cause attacks and exacerbate the pain. If you wait until late pulp necrosis, cold stimulation may relieve the pain, while hot stimulation will aggravate the pain. Younger babies don’t talk, they just cry. As a parent, you should know the symptoms of different periods.

(1) When the pulp is not perforated, there will be no obvious spontaneous pain, there may be a dull pain, and it is easier to have an acute attack. If the pulp is partially or completely purulent or necrotic, it is sensitive to thermal stimulation, which is called atresia.

(2) When the pulp has penetrated, the appearance will form ulcers, and there will be severe pain when hot and cold stimulation or food is embedded in the cavity. This is more common in children’s deciduous molars.

(3) The dental pulp is exposed to the cavity, and the crown has been generally destroyed, and the pulp tissue will grow into the cavity to form polyps. It is tender, bleeding is easier, and sometimes there is slight percussion pain on the teeth. Children’s deciduous molars and first permanent molars are more prone to this situation in the late stage of deep caries.

To solve pulpitis, the emergency solution will be different according to the type of emergency and the condition of the disease. The main one is to open the pulp and drain so that the pulp is exposed, the products that cause inflammation will be discharged, and the pain will be relieved. Afterward, you can rinse your mouth with warm water to clean up the discharge. If there is still pain after the pulp is opened, a small cotton ball dipped in an analgesic should be placed in the cavity for pain relief, otherwise, the food will still cause severe pain when embedded in the cavity. In the later stage, a cotton ball should be placed in the cavity to prevent the opening of the pulp hole from being blocked by food. Fill the teeth after the symptoms disappear to complete the purpose of preserving the tooth. If inappropriate solutions are used, the pulpitis may become an apical abscess, and the tooth can only be extracted.
