Invisaligns are orthodontic devices which are thin, transparent, removable, physically invisible plastic aligners used for successful correction of the teeth position. This technique of aligning teeth is simple and comfortable for the people. This is why its popularity among people is rising.
Invisalign treatment consists in a series of custom fitted clear plastic aligners that are going to be worn around your teeth. While treatment times vary, patients generally change trays every week or two, until the end of their treatment. Your consultation will determine how many aligner changes you will need, as this can vary greatly depending on the extent of the work to be done.
How does Invisalign work?
First, going to digitally scan your teeth with iTero. The iTero is a digital intraoral scanning system. This means a camera that takes a precise 3D picture of your teeth. Once those pictures are taken with iTero, we forward them immediately to Invisalign and within 15 minutes, we receive a real-time photo of the ideal outcome of your Miracle Smile.
With this photo, we can create a plan of treatment. Dr. Anna Aller and the patient will discuss the desired results and agree on a realistic timeline. Once agreed upon by the patient, we forward your case to Invisalign and they will generate custom made aligner trays that slowly move your teeth in the correct position over time.
Once your aligners have been created, you can expect to visit Miracle Smile regularly for adjustments. New aligners will be provided after your routine monthly visit, until the desired results are achieved. After your smile is perfectly aligned, we ask that you discard your last Invisalign tray. Re-using the tray later can actually cause issues with your bite.
What about retainers? Can I get a clear retainer?
Once your Invisalign treatment is complete, clear retainers may be created to maintain your new smile. These retainers are invisible whether you are in the at work, beach gym or classroom – allowing you to be confident and comfortable wearing them at any time, day or night. They are made rom the same state of the art technology as Invisalign aligners.
Can Invisalign be used by all patients?
Invisalign can only be used for alignment of teeth after consultation with orthodontists. Not every patient is the right candidate for it and it also cannot fix. All the orthodontic issues such as severe jaw issues and severe malocclusion. They are also not well suited for use in young patients and people with poor periodontal health. Therefore, it is very important to make proper evaluations, a prompt treatment plan and periodic supervision which befits the need of each patient. Hence, the use of Invisalign Review is case specific and not general.
